Through painting and
creating my mineral specimen based figures, I hope to
share the pleasure I receive from the process. Whether standing in an
expanse
of grassland, in the splendor of a canyon, or on the reed-bordered
shores of a
lake, I look for the vignette that communicates the scene. Sometimes it
is an
expansive panorama, sometimes the center of a flower, sometimes the
abstract design of the shapes and colors.
The natural mineral specimens I use to
portray angel or butterfly figures
embody the natural beauty found in our world. I hope to use a little
piece of it to
share my wonder at the magnitude of the forces required to create this
beauty.
